Transformative Healing. Expanded Possibility. A Return to Wholeness.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

At Irie Wellness, we offer a compassionate and evidence-based approach to emotional healing and personal growth through Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)—a powerful modality for those seeking lasting change, deeper insight, and reconnection with themselves. Roger Lavine, LPC, founder of Irie Wellness, is a licensed professional counselor certified in providing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, bringing specialized training, presence, and care to guide you through this deeply transformative process.

We offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as a compliment to traditional therapy. KAP is delivered in our practice in partnership with Journey Clinical, which has a specialized medical team that determines eligibility for KAP, prescribes the ketamine, & supports us in monitoring outcomes.

WHAT TO KNOW

How KAP Works

What Is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

KAP is a unique therapeutic process that combines the well-established psychedelic effects of ketamine with the supportive framework of psychotherapy. Ketamine facilitates a non-ordinary state of consciousness, allowing for profound psychological insight, emotional release, and accelerated healing. When guided by a trained therapist, this experience can be harnessed for lasting and meaningful change.

Integration

Ketamine, administered in controlled, low doses under the supervision of a qualified medical professional, induces a unique state of consciousness. This altered state can help patients gain new perspectives on their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, making them more receptive to therapeutic interventions. The process typically involves several stages:

What Can KAP Help With?

Research and clinical practice show that KAP can be highly effective in treating:

  • Depression, including treatment-resistant depression

  • Anxiety and chronic worry

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma-related symptoms

  • Burnout, emotional fatigue, and chronic stress

  • Feelings of disconnection or numbness

KAP doesn’t just target symptoms—it can open the door to a deeper relationship with yourself and a greater sense of freedom, clarity, and purpose

Unlike traditional antidepressants that may take weeks to show effects, ketamine can provide relief from depressive symptoms within hours or days.

Rapid Symptom Relief

Ketamine promotes brain plasticity, potentially leading to long-term improvements in mood and cognitive function.

Enhanced Neuroplasticity

The unique state induced by ketamine can help patients overcome mental blocks, enabling breakthroughs in therapy that may not be achievable through conventional methods.

Break-through in Therapy

Can be shortened to just introspection or emotional processing. This allows individuals to explore difficult emotions and memories in a safe and supportive environment, potentially unlocking deeper layers of the psyche.

WEIGH YOUR OPTIONS

Is KAP Right for You?

KAP is not suitable for everyone. It is essential to consult with a healthcare provider to evaluate if this treatment aligns with your mental health needs and medical condition. Candidates for KAP typically include individuals who have not responded to other treatments or are seeking alternative therapies for their mental health challenges.
